Total Independent Community Inclusion NJ (TICINJ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the rights and inclusion of intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals in New Jersey. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, TICINJ works to promote acceptance, empowerment, and equal opportunities for individuals with IDD and their families. Founded with a vision of creating a society where every individual, regardless of their abilities, can thrive and contribute meaningfully, TICINJ has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of acceptance and empowerment for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Tony Ihuoma is a visionary leader and the dedicated CEO of Total Independent Community Inclusion NJ, a prominent nonprofit organization committed to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Tony developed a deep sense of empathy and compassion from a young age. Tony's journey in the field of developmental disabilities and individuals with special needs began when he started pursuing a degree in nursing/psychology, driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. After completing his education at Andres University, he worked as a Quality assurance /clinical psychologist assistant, gaining valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities, individuals with special needs and their families.
In his early career, he worked hands-on with individuals facing developmental challenges, gaining a deep understanding of their needs and aspirations. Throughout his professional career Tony dove into the nonprofit sector and in 2012 founded Total Independent Community Inclusion NJ with an unwavering dedication to creating a more inclusive society in New Jersey. Under Tony's leadership, Total Independent Community Inclusion NJ has flourished into a beacon of hope for the community it serves. He has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives to enhance accessibility, promote integration, and advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs across New Jersey.
Tony's collaborative spirit has fostered partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions, amplifying the impact of the organization. Beyond his professional endeavors, Tony is actively involved in raising awareness about developmental disabilities and special needs on a broader scale. His tireless dedication continues to shape a future where individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs are embraced, empowered, and celebrated for their unique abilities.
